Membership Forum: Homelessness

Wednesday, April 28, 2021 (8:00 AM - 9:30 AM) (PDT)

Description

~This is a BOMA/GLA Member Only Event~

There is deep frustration across our entire community – including the commercial real estate industry – about the human tragedy of homelessness.

Many questions have emerged in recent years about the deep-rooted systemic constraints to ending our homeless crisis and how to chart a way forward: Should elected officials appoint a “homeless czar” or grant new authorities to government agencies so they can be accountable? How have recent lawsuits changed the landscape in combatting homelessness – has it fomented chaos or forced our hand to act?

The homelessness crisis has reached a boiling point and is becoming more complex by the day. How do BOMA/GLA members make sense of this situation and where do we engage to be part of productive policy and practical solutions?

  • You will emerge with a better understanding of the causes of the current regional homelessness crisis, described as nothing short of a humanitarian crisis.
  • You will hear about what’s working – and what urgently needs to be improved.
  • As building and property managers, you will be inspired to join efforts to make a meaningful impact.
