Downtown LA Power Hour: Bringing Back DTLA. A Town Hall with Downtown's City Council Staff

Thursday, February 18, 2021 (8:00 AM - 9:00 AM) (PST)

Description

Downtown Los Angeles has been disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

As the challenges we already faced with homelessness continue, we now also face economic conditions we could have never predicted just a year ago: Businesses are shut down, occupancy is low, and residents are leaving the area.

BOMA/GLA members are deeply invested in continuing to address the homelessness crisis Downtown and to revitalize economic activity to make Downtown the center of civic and cultural life in our city once again.

We are therefore excited to welcome representatives from of the office of DTLA’s new Councilmember Kevin de León to discuss:

  • Councilmember de León’s priorities to address the homelessness crisis Downtown, and the unique challenges that have emerged in accomplishing this because of COVID-19.
  • How Councilmember de León believes we can bring commerce and culture back to LA’s urban core and put DTLA on even better footing than where we were pre-pandemic.
  • How BOMA/GLA members can help Councilmember de León achieve these goals.

Most importantly, though, this is an opportunity for your local elected official to hear from you about your experiences and needs.

BOMA/GLA has worked with Kevin de León for years, including in his most recent campaign for City Council. This, however, is BOMA/GLA’s first membership meeting with his staff since he assumed office late last Fall.
