Codes Update: Arc Flash - What You Need To Know
Tuesday, September 17, 2019 (8:00 AM - 10:00 AM) (PDT)
Description
Do you know what an arc flash is?
Most of us are familiar with an arc. The dictionary describes an electric arc as " a luminous bridge formed in a gap between two electrodes".
But do you know what it can do? This kind of temperature can set fire to clothing and severely burn human skin in fractions of a second and at a significant distance from the event.
As a property manager, operations manager or owner, you could ultimately be liable if accidents occur.
Learn the current regulations and guidelines in order to budget for arc flash studies and acquiring personal protective equipment (PPE), as well as regular inspection of it.
Key Topics:
- Defining an arc flash
- What to do if you have an arc flash hazard
