Catch the Buzz Around Town: Urban Beekeeping and Commercial Real Estate (In-Person)

Tuesday, September 28, 2021 (3:00 PM - 5:00 PM) (PDT)

Description

According to the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations, Bees are under great threat from the combined effects of climate change, intensive agriculture, pesticides use, biodiversity loss and pollution.

Real estate can play a role in mitigating the decline of the bee population through urban beekeeping and design strategies that integrate buildings into the larger ecosystem. Panelists from Alveole, an urban beekeeping company, will share their technical expertise on the logistics of bee installation and maintenance and panelists from Rising Realty and Kilroy Realty Corporation will share their perspective on why biodiversity is important to real estate and how their bees add value to the portfolio.

The presentation will be followed up with guided tours of the onsite beehive, as well as an opportunity to network with the panelists and attendees.
